Ayer Maxi me sorprendió contando que a M67 le llaman "el Rey Cobra"
¿Sabeis además de los sobrenombres típicos de Laguna, Trífida, Buho, Cisne ...(no hace falta que siga no? )
otros menos conocidos?

Sobre el King Cobra he encontrado esto -no es gran cosa, pero puede ser el hilo del que tirar para deshacer el novillo-:

In trying to locate it, I had to make sure that I was using the correct guide stars, as I was not as familiar with Cancer as I am now after this exercise. (Side note: at this darker location, I was happy to be able to see the Beehive naked eye.) Once I had the correct star to jump from, it was relatively easy to find it. I've seen this object refered to as the King Cobra. After spending some time observing it an letting my mind absorb and work with the image, I did see a kind of serpent, perhaps not a cobra, but something with a larger body. The head, though, was definitely there in the form of three sharp pinpoints of light, situated in such a way as to make it appear similar to a snake's triangular head. Usually, I try to observe the object for a while first before reading O'meara's description, so as to not influence what I am to look at. It was interesting to see that my observations matched his description; he describes the thick body as being a cobra right after a big meal. The biggest satisfaction I got from this observation was getting familiar with Cancer and the region around it, including the head of Hydra.

pues yo no sé de donde sacan eso chico porque yo no veo ninguna cobra ...bueno, en nigún cúmulo globular no vería ningún animal que no fuese un enjambre de abejas
las nebulosas si hacen formas curiosas...pero los cúmulos....para ver cosas hay que fumar lo fumaba Carl Sagan

Solo nombres raros para los Messier?
O tambien sirven algunos (nebulosas sobretodo) que sus nombres fueron castellanizados?

La nebulosa del Capullo Cocoon IC 5146, en el Cisne


La nebulosa Pelo de Zorro NGC 2264 en Monoceros


El Unicornio

En la foto podemos ver la Nebulosa del Cono (izquierda), la nebulosa de Pelo de Zorro, que se encuentra justo debajo de S Mon, y el cúmulo de estrellas Arbol de Navidad

Comprende la nebulosa de emisión y el cluster de estrellas jóvenes IC 1396, en la alta y lejana constelación de Cefeo

No, me referia solo a Messier ya que estoy recopilando info.....pero ya puestos cuelgo mi preferida.
